Coronavirus – Covid -19

We are striving to provide as normal a service as possible alongside minimising the risk of spreading coronavirus. In spite of the impending relaxation of the lockdown, please be aware that the virus is still present and we still need to be very cautious. You will not be able to phone and book an appointment without being assessed by a GP over the phone. If you have already spoken to a doctor or nurse about the problem, we will accept email communications at cambridgehousesurgery@nhs.net. Please mark the email for the attention of the relevant clinician. If you have no internet access, please phone the surgery to book a telephone consultation.

All patients will be triaged before being invited to attend the practice. If you develop symptoms of coronavirus prior to your appointment, please contact the surgery to check whether it is still safe to come in.

It is safer for everyone if you can avoid coming to the practice, so please order repeat prescriptions using online access, via the chemist or by email Cambridgehousesurgery@nhs.net.

We appreciate your co-operation in these challenging times.

As you may be aware, we are managing patients remotely as far as is possible. This includes telephone consultations, video consultations, and advice being given via SMS or email. The phone lines are at full capacity so there may be some delay in responding to calls. This can be accessed via our website www.cambridgehousesurgery.co.uk

Cambridge House Surgery will be triaging all patient requests for appointments. Please call the surgery for a telephone/video consultant in the first instance. This helps the doctor to assess your needs. If your problem can be managed with a quick response, we will email or send an SMS text. You may receive a telephone call at some point, but not necessarily at an appointed time. The doctors will attempt to call you twice, so please be prepared to answer if you have requested a call. Please note, the number may come up as withheld. Thank you for helping us to help you.

We regret that in these exceptional circumstances the practice is currently unable to write any letters for patients who are making a holiday refund insurance claim.

This service is non contractual and as such we are under no obligation to offer this. We hope you will understand that the GPs need to focus upon the clinical needs of their patients at this difficult time.

The Government announced on 17th March that: –

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) now advises British people against all non-essential travel worldwide. This advice takes effect immediately and applies initially for a period of 30 days.

As such, insurance claims can be requested on this basis. Full details can be read at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/travel-advice-novel-coronavirus
